Dr. Sabala Mandava Rao, M.D. – Brief Bio
Michigan Women's Commission, Chair of Leadership Committee
Dr. Mandava was appointed by the governor to the State of Michigan Women’s Commission in 2020 and is charged with evaluating and improving the needs of the women of Michigan. She is a radiologist at Henry Ford Health System and has been the Director of the Division of Breast Imaging since 2017. Dr. Mandava is the co-author of two books on Breast Imaging, and has been and is a co-investigator and principal investigator for several national, multi-institutional clinical trials for emerging technologies related to improving breast cancer detection. She is passionate about reducing the health care disparities among women and minorities. Mandava is on several committees in national radiology associations related to improving inclusion and diversity in this field. She earned her medical degree from Guntur Medical College, India, did her residency at Michigan State University, Flint and fellowship in Women's Imaging at Henry Ford Hospital. |
