Christy Jensen – Brief Bio
Executive Director, Michigan Democratic Party
Since February 2019, Christy has been the Executive Director of the Michigan Democratic Party. Christy had worked for MDP Chair Lavora Barnes previously as the GOTV Director for the 2018 One Campaign, and managed Barnes’ successful campaign for Chair in February 2019, becoming the first woman and African American to ever Chair the Michigan Democratic Party. Prior to joining the One Campaign, Christy had managed many campaigns in southeast Michigan including Oak Park Mayor Marian McClellan, Pontiac Mayor Deirdre Waterman, Detroit City Council President Brenda Jones, Oak Park Councilwoman Carolyn Burns and Congresswoman Brenda Lawrence. She has also worked on some statewide efforts including Chief Justice Bridget Mary McCormack and the 2018 One Campaign, the statewide coordinated slate. For many years, Christy served on the Executive Committee of the Birmingham Bloomfield Dems, the Oakland County Democratic Party, the MDP Justice Caucus, the 9th Congressional District and the Michigan Democratic Party.
