History
The Women Officials Network, a non-profit and non-partisan organization, was founded in 1997 by then State Rep. Patricia (Pan) Godchaux (R-Birmingham) and her district liaison, Barbara Moorhouse.
One of WON's first activities was to host quarterly breakfasts that featured dynamic speakers and provided great networking opportunities. Our Quarterly Networking Breakfasts are still going strong. We have hosted a wide array of speakers on a range of topics. Past programs have included the women on the Michigan State Supreme Court, Secretaries of State Terri Lynn Land and then Jocelyn Benson, Senator Debbie Stabenow, and many other powerful and influential local leaders. View a list of our recent speakers here.
In 2008, the WON Foundation was formed to take over the WONder Woman Awards Banquet. In 2018, the Women Officials Network and the Women Officials Network Foundation became one organization. Read more about that here.
